ABV:
or alcohol by volume, is the standard measurement, used worldwide, to assess the strength of a particular beer.  The ABV scale is simple in the fact that the higher the ABV, the more alcohol that beer contains.  Lighter beers range from 4-4.5% ABV, with percentages getting higher with heavier styles of beer.

IBU:
or international bitter unit, is a less discernable abbreviation that is as, if not more, important when it comes to selecting the type of beer that is right for you.  The IBU scale measures the bitterness levels in beer ( based on the amount of hops added) and helps beer drinkers determine which style of brews are ideal for their taste buds.  This scale can be tricky, however, because higher IBU levels do not always equate to bitter flavor.

Koko Brown Ale

Is there anything more iconic of the lush tropics than the coconut? The delicious heart of this island treasure has a nutty, toffee flavor and aroma that sends you straight to the beaches of Paradise. Kick back with a Koko Brown, brewed with real toasted coconut, and savor the mahogany color and smooth, roasty malt taste. Available Winter/Spring Koko Brown pairs well with coconut and caramel flavors, such as Thai curries, BBQ meats and carne asada. Its refreshing nutty aroma makes for the perfect beer after a day on the water.

Magners Irish Cider

We all need a bit of variety and that’s why we came up with the idea for Magner’s Pear. Of course, we like to do things properly and don’t mind taking our time about it, so unlike some Pear cider, the only fruit that goes into ours is pears.

And of course, you’ll only find 100% premium quality pears in Magners Pear, which we filter to get rid of any impurities before fermenting slowly.

That’s what makes Magners Pear so fresh, fruity and full of flavor. So next time you’re out and wanting a bit of a change, pour a Magners Pear, sit back and enjoy.

Goose Island IPA

Our IPA recalls a time when ales shipped from England to India were highly hopped to preserve their distinct taste during the long journey. The result, quite simply a hop lover’s dream. And this classic ale adds a fruity aroma, set off by a dry malt middle, to ensure that the long hop finish is one you’ll remember.

Domestic beer is the “big dog” breweries. The most commonly linked breweries to this term are Budweiser, and Miller-Coors. If you picture your favorite bar’s happy hour special, then you have an idea of what a domestic beer is. One convenient factor of domestic beers is that you can cook with them.
